Timeless Moments of Love – A Musical Celebration of Mother's Day is the second concert in the 2025 Washington International Young Artists Music Series. This special concert honors the spirit of motherhood through a heartfelt selection of works that explore themes of love, memory, and devotion. The performance features five outstanding musicians from James Madison University, the University of Maryland, and the Catholic University of America.
The program highlights the powerful voices of female composers like Lili Boulanger and Amy Beach, whose works bring an especially tender resonance to this Mother’s Day celebration. Lili Boulanger’s Les Mélodies—Un Poète Disait, Nous Nous Aimerons Tant, and Les Lilas qui Avaient Fleuri—are filled with poetic grace and emotional nuance.
