About WIYAMS

The Washington International Young Artists Music Series

The Washington International Young Artists Music Series (WIYAMS) is a distinguished music initiative organized by the International Arts Development and Promotion Association (IADPA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Rooted in Washington, the nation's capital, WIYAMS embraces the mission of "letting the world listen to young music," dedicated to creating a global platform for exceptionally talented young musicians.

We foster meaningful connections between emerging artists and diverse audiences while reimagining the classical concert experience through innovation, creativity, and fresh interpretations. Each year, WIYAMS selects a distinguished group of exceptional WIYAMS ARTISTS from a highly competitive pool of international applicants, providing them with professional performance opportunities at prestigious cultural venues throughout Washington, D.C. Our comprehensive support services include professionally designed promotional materials, professional photography and videography, and high-quality performance video production, ensuring our WIYAMS ARTISTS receive complete career development support.

Our Journey

In October 2023, we celebrated the successful inauguration of WIYAMS with a remarkable performance at CUA's Ward Recital Hall. Our inaugural concert, LEVANA, symbolized young artists on the verge of ascending as shining stars in the musical realm. Building on this momentum, our second concert, "Melodies of Sofia," held in November 2023 at the Embassy of Bulgaria, showcased talented young artists from six different countries, further establishing WIYAMS as a transformative force in the classical music landscape.

In 2024, WIYAMS expanded significantly, welcoming young artists from 12 prestigious U.S. music programs, including Yale University, Peabody Conservatory of Music, The Catholic University of America, Manhattan School of Music, The Juilliard School, University of Maryland, Rutgers University, Shenandoah University, The University of Alabama, and more. That year, we hosted three concerts in the DMV area, featuring performances at the Embassy of Bulgaria, Ward Recital Hall, and McNeir Hall.

In 2025, our aspirations continue to grow. We have received applications from young artists representing 36 universities across 10 countries, marking a breakthrough in both reach and applicant numbers. With this growth, we aim to expand our partnerships and secure new performance venues, providing emerging musicians with even greater opportunities to perform, connect, and elevate their careers.

Our Approach

At WIYAMS, we uphold a highly selective, merit-based evaluation process, where applicants are assessed by professional musicians based on their performance videos.

Beyond performances, WIYAMS is committed to expanding opportunities for emerging artists. We actively collaborate with partners to secure additional concert hall performances, leveraging music’s universal language to promote cultural exchange and enrich the arts landscape.

All WIYAMS concerts are free and open to the public, reflecting our dedication to making classical music accessible to everyone. Additionally, our post-concert reception program fosters direct engagement between performers and audiences, deepening appreciation for classical music while helping artists build meaningful professional connections.

Our Vision

WIYAMS is more than a concert series—it is a catalyst for artistic growth, cultural exchange, and audience engagement. Through our performances and partnerships, we strive to bridge the gap between emerging artists and the public, cultivating a vibrant community that supports the future of classical music.

Join us in celebrating the next generation of classical musicians and experience the beauty of live performance with WIYAMS!
