The second concert of the 2025 Washington International Young Artists Music Series celebrates Mother’s Day with a heartfelt program honoring the spirit of motherhood. Through a rich selection of vocal and instrumental works, the concert explores themes of love, memory, and devotion.
This special performance features five outstanding musicians from James Madison University, the University of Maryland, and The Catholic University of America. The program highlights works by influential female composers, including Lili Boulanger and Amy Beach, whose music brings tenderness and emotional depth to this celebration. Featured works include Boulanger’s Les Mélodies and Beach’s Romance, alongside Saint-Saëns’ Violin Concerto No. 3 and Samuil Feinberg’s Piano Sonata in A Major, Op. 1, adding expressive richness and youthful brilliance to the program.

The program offers an intimate musical journey through passion, lyricism, and virtuosity, with works by Schumann, Fauré, Rachmaninoff, Ysaÿe, and Ravel. Set within the refined atmosphere of the Bulgarian Embassy, this Music Salon promises a memorable evening of artistry, connection, and international collaboration.
